2 Lap individual TT results including comparison times from the first ride of the season. We are proposing to end the season with another 2 lap individual TT on march 25th. Too let us know what you would prefer post a reply to this post. Sorry no points this week, will sort out after I get back, Jeff You are invited to celebrate the lighting of the Project Twin Streams cycleway on Friday, 19 March. The celebration will be held at Field 3, Henderson park, Waitakere (access from Wilsher Cres) from 5.30pm until 9pm. It’s planned to have a lot of free family fun, with people walking, cycling and pushing prams, enjoying entertainment and the sausage sizzle, and taking part in various competitions for the best dressed bike/pram/person/stream creature etc.
Don’t forget, next week is an Individual Time Trial over 2 laps of the course. Same start time & place. What a FANTASTIC weekend. We had a great time, thanks to all those who attended and especially Catherine & Rochelle for making it all happen. The weather was brilliant and many riders achieved personal best times. A couple of outstanding results to be mentioned are: Tony Kelly – 2nd in age group 4:09 Mark Neville & Gary Hutchinson – First in Tandem category

You will ride through magnificent countryside from one world famous tourist destination to another using private sealed forestry roads, SH5, peaceful country roads and even parts of the famous Ironman course finishing inside the Taupo Events Centre. A great way to spend a weekend for cyclists of all levels, with the event totally organized for you. The event hosted close to 3800 competitors in 2009 and event organizers are expecting to exceed 4,000 riders in 2010. DoC will again be providing a package deal to get to this great event, numbers will be limited so get in fast. Click the link below to get all the info. We suggest that you avoid Scenic Drive both ways as well as Forest Hill Road during this period. It’s expected to draw large crowds which means lots of young speedie drivers and hoons racing back and forth along these stretches of road. Extra Caution is required when biking. I hope the Christmas and new year festive season treated you well and you are now gearing up for the next big cycling challenge – Taranaki. Can you also let me know when you have done this so I can confirm your place. $190.00 for members requiring transport. $130.00 for non transport (If you are not a DoC member – please contact me for pricing details) Subject: Changes to cyclepath at Monterey Park, SH18 – Upper Harbour Cycleway To all users of the cyclepath in front of Monterey Park. As of 18th December the route of the existing cyclepath will be changing so please be aware. The route be alongside the new part of the motorway between the concrete barrier and the fence. Cyclists travelling East towards Greenhithe need to turn onto the new cyclepath WHERE IT STARTS. Do not go as far as the entrance to Monterey Park where most cyclists used to go – this entrance has been moved to the end of the causeway. For those going West just keep to the designated route rather than turning onto the main road. There is no safe shoulder on this piece of road. This temporary arrangement will be in place till early 2011 when the cyclepath will use the new Squadron Drive bridge and Buckley Ave to link with Hobsonville Road.
