Thursday Night Races Finished for another year.President Jeff looking serious

Thursday 15th March saw the last of the Thursday night races for the season with a 2 lap time trial followed by a few drinks in The Fireplace.

Thank you to everyone who attended / competed in these races through the year. It was great to finish off the way we started with a great social atmosphere throughout the evening.   (although some took it a little more seriously 😉 )  Check out the pictures on Facebook by clicking here.

Give Way Rule Change 25th March 5am.  Goive Way rules change

Road rule changes back after 35 years:  To make our roads safer, two of the give way rules are changing. These changes come into effect at 5am on Sunday 25 March 2012. Until then the current give-way rules apply.

These changes will affect all drivers, riders, pedestrians and cyclists. Make sure you know the new rules so you’ll know what to do.

Calendar for DoC: As part of the DoC’s commitment to providing information for its members we will be starting a calendar of events.  More inormation on how to use this calendar will be coming in the coming weeks.

Spaces still available

If you need accommodation, meals and travel there is still time.  Due to some last minute cancellations we have a few spaces available for DoC supported 100k Flyer.  This includes transportation of bikes to the start line, accommodation, food at the finish, meal on the evening and breakfast on the Sunday morning.

100k Flyer Briefing night.

Wednesday 28th March 2012:  the support of the above event takes a lot of organization.  This is your chance to get all the information about timings of meals and transport.

Please email Rochelle here if you would like any further information.  As this date falls in the middle of ‘Shave for a Cure’ week there will also be some hairdressing on the night.

Shave Down For Charity:

A few have decided to help the cause, who wants to join them:  Alan Parry and Elliot pearce have decided to shave for a cure.  This will be happening at the Flyer briefing on Tuesday 28th March 2012 at AvantiPlus.  If you would like to join the cause please email Alan  If you would like to donate to the cause please click here!!!

Relay for life

Support Our Members at Relay for Life.

Jim Denton and Avril are walking in the relay for life in a team of 20 to raise money for the Cancer Society.  This year the event will be held at Kumeu Show grounds on Saturday 24th March.  They start walking at 3pm on Saturday and finish at 10am on Sunday.  Any support would be appreciated.  If you would like to donate please click here and fill in your details.  The event is at Kumeu Show grounds and the team is Don’s Team.
