A new event & course: Love riding your bike and only riding? Then the stand alone Mountain Bike option allows competitors to enjoy an amazing terra firma mtb ride alongside the Duathletes over a very similar course to what the multisporters complete.
Starting and finishing within the magnificent Redwoods Forest the event reinforces why Rotorua’s has a reputation for being home to some of the world’s best mtb tracks.
Beginning from outside the Redwoods Visitor Centre on Long Mile Road, individual competitors will mtb along the road under lead vehicle pace control before heading up the hill straight into Whakarewarewa Forest. Spoilt for selection, riders will pick off 30 km of the most favored purpose built tracks including some incredible sweeping downhill runs. For the more adventurous there are plenty of opportunities to ride berm corners high and get great air, before it comes to a end back where it all started.
Nearby under a fantastic canopy suspended from massive trees in the heart of the magnificent Redwoods Forest, there will be a gala atmosphere for all to enjoy.
