Moonride Coordinator for DOC anyone?

We need someone to coordinate the DOC & Jafakids contingent going down to Rotorua to the Cateye Moonride this year on 18/19 May. It’s an awesomely exciting event and you’ll get free transport and accommodation for your efforts. Coordination role includes:

– Compiling the list of team and solo entrants (not including actual event registration)

– Liaising with the event organiser so we get our tent village all in one spot!

– Doing the promo to the membership (Ironman Alan Parry can help you with putting stuff on the website, facebook and in the weekly updates)

– Figuring out what infrastructure we need; tents, BBQs etc…and who’s taking what etc.

Get in touch with Sarah at or Bruce or Barry from Jafakids to let us know if you are keen. Thank you so much, we can’t do it without you!!

Auckland Regional Bike Facilities Plan – Survey

A regional bike facility plan is being developed for the Auckland region through a partnership between Auckland Council, Bike NZ, the cycling codes within the Auckland region, the Regional Sports Trust Alliance and Auckland Transport. It will be used to identify demand and to guide future facility developments, along with being used as a tool to gain funding. Take a few minutes to fill out the survey at

The aim of the plan is to identify the current demand and facilities used, project how demand is changing and to identify what facilities will be required. The plan will consider the facility requirements for:

    • BMX.
    • Mountain bike.
    • Road.
    • Track.
    • Triathlon.

Your views are very important to the project, please complete the survey as fully as possible by 15th February.

Club Family Fun Day – Waitangi Day

Save the date! DOC will be having a family fun day on Waitangi Day, Wednesday 6 February, at Sanders Reserve, Albany.

The day will be for everyone; roadies to mtbers, and everyone in between, plus of course your family members (maybe even the dog?).

More details coming soon…happy riding.

Mountain bikers – how can DOC better support you and your riding?

*Attention all mountain bikers (members and non members) that currently ride with the DOC crew – we want to hear from you!*

DOC can only get better and head down the right track if we know what you, as the riders, want from your club. We’ve put together a very quick survey so we can try and better understand what the needs of mtbers are and then develop programmes to support those needs. Even if you aren’t a DOC member but ride with the DOC crew, please complete the survey as we hope you join the DOC community if we are doing things right.

So please take 5 minutes out of your day and answer a few multi-choice questions. The more responses, the better information we can collect.
