We crossed the Bridge!

Despite all the car-obsessed NZTA officials trying to stop us, we celebrated 50th anniversary of our Bridge in the best possible way- by walking and cycling it! With over 3000 people, fantastic weather and amazing atmosphere, it was the place to be! The ride itself was absolutelly awesome too. Let’s hope that soon cycling and walking the bridge will become an everyday thing, to the benefit of all.

Big thanks to GetAcross volunteers, Police officers & bridge staff for making it possible!

2009 Moonride results

Last weekend the Cateye Moonride took place in Rotorua and the Avantiplus Waitakere/Department of Cycling teams again had a huge presence. Not only did we have the biggest tent thanks to Gaz and the Te Atatu Soccer Club but there were some excellent results too with the A+ Waitakere team and the Saucy Ladies both winning Bronze medals in their categories, followed closely by the Try Hards (4th) and the Die Hards (6th) and an amazing 31 Lap (250km) solo effort for Russell Jennings.

It is no mean feat to organise so many teams of people and a special mention must go out to those riders that went the extra mile to make it all happen.  Well done to all those who took part at the Moonride in Rotorua. We will post some pictures as soon as they are available!
