Pukekohe Express

Congratulations to all who rode  the Pukekohe Express on Sunday. There were some great results for DoC members, including 2 firsts.

Lake Taupo Training Ride

Join us for a 150km or 100km  pre-Taupo training ride on the Auckland Challenge course starting at Parakai domain.

Date: Sunday 25th October (Labour weekend)

Start time: 8:30am

100km, 1 Bunch: 22-25km/h average  (4:30-5 hours)

150km, 2 Bunches: 25km/h Average (6 hours), 28km/h Average (5 hours 20 mins)

Cost: Members No Charge, Non-members $10 (to cover food & fuel)

Both bunches will be supported by a vehicle for breakdowns, additional food/fluid etc. The ride will be followed by lunch at Parakai domain.

1) Up the intensity for the mid week Tuesday and Thursday sessions
2) Pukekohe Race – 100km
3) Taupo Weekend as a big overload
4) Up the time for the long ride.

Bike the Lake

Join us in Rotorua for either 1 of 2 laps around the lake on November 8th. The  scenic 42km lap around the lake  caters for all levels.  We will be attending so if you would like to join us please register you’re interest by email to rochelle@deptofcycling.com

Please let us know if you would like accommodation the night before as part of the package.  Members and non-members welcome

Northwest Cycleway closure

Beginning Monday next week (19 October) Auckland City will be resealing a section of the Northwest Cycleway, between Patiki Road and Te Atatu Road. In order to complete our work safely, we need to close the cycleway while we are working.
