Road Rides – Sat 16 & Sun 17 March

Team, 

This weekends road bunch rides with only three weeks to go until the flyer! 

Saturday – 0800 – 35km – Our very own Chairwoman Kathryn will be leading this along with Marie.  The 45km ride will be lead by resident Ironman  Alan (undies on the outside) Parry and Emma H.

Sunday  – 0730 – 70ish km in the hills  (leave your single speed at home Grant!) – up onto scenic drive down forest hill and back around the foot hills.  Brendan.

Sunday – 0730 50ish km in the hills out to Swanson over the “ride of truth course plus a few more foot hills. Darrell Castle

Flyer Update

Hi Guys

Time is marching on!! I have 10 seats left in the van going down for the flyer, first in first served.

Cut off is 20th March, If you are wanting to take up option  1 or 2, you need to have done it before then.  Info here

For those of you already confirmed on option 1 or 2, I will be emailing you the itinerary this week, also a menu for Saturday night dinner, can you please advise what you will be having so I can advise the kitchen!

If you do not receive an email from me this week, PLEASE let me know ASAP so I can send it to you.

Payment welcome any time now, also I will be putting you in rooms, if there is someone you don’t want to share with, you need to let me know as I have no idea!!  All correspondence will be confidential, bribes also welcome!!

Skills Clinic with Sasha Smith: How to Ride Technical Sections

Sasha will be holding a skills clinic (first in, first served) focussed specifically around how to ride technical sections of trail; cornering and other basics. The clinic will be suitable for novice and intermediate riders. This is a great opportunity to learn from a current National Champ who is known for her super-duper technical ability, especially downhill. It’s gonna be fun!!!

Sunday 7 April, 2pm at Riverhead Forest  (Barlow Rd), approx 2.5hrs. Max 6 ppl. $30 each. Register by emailing mtb@deptofcycling.com.

Change to Saturday Bunch Rides

Due to the annual Kumeu Show the ride routes have been changed for tomorrow morning to avoid the show grounds.

Birdwood, Taupaki, Huapai, Awa, Tawa, Annandale, Cottle, Waitakere, Amriens, Kay, Swanson and home.
It is the same course for everyone but there will be 3 groups with 3 ride leaders.
Fast, Medium and a no drop group.
Enjoy the ride from the bike shop at 8am in the morning.
