I think in Checo's case, it's the car. They had Liam test his car, and apparently it did no go well.

I could stomach a Blando win ONLY if Maxipad doesn’t make the podium and throws a tantrum.

Eh. Maybe Checo is washed and Lawson isn’t that good (and/or isn’t experienced enough to handle the car). Hard to know when Red Bull won’t let anyone anywhere near objectively good near the number 2 seat. Alonso and Lewis showed interest and were rebuffed. Sainz is still available but Redbull is uninterested. Even Yuki has shown too much to be considered for the spot.
The presumption that Scamstappen is some GOAT-tier machine rather than a system driver can’t be conclusively rebutted whilst Checo is in the second Red Bull seat. The current situation protects both of their reputations. And given they’ve been allowed that sketchy car, Red Bull can get away with these janky decisions based on ego salving and jersey sales rather than racing results.
Anyway, fingers crossed for another Lewis podium (dare I hope for a win?) And if it’s not Lewis on top, hopefully Piastri grows a pair and beats Norris. He’s capable of it, but will he be a company man?

Yeah they mad that Lewis’s fashions get those clicks and eyes! And what I’ll miss the most about “Zhou” on the grid is he brings lewks as well. Nothing wrong with being interesting and authentic!
Also Max’s whole brand is being boring and ugly… but Danny was at the Met Gala last year trying to bring it so what’s tea?
