Blues Alley
1073 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007
Blues Alley is the oldest national jazz club, founded in 1965. Over the years they have had some truly iconic performers, including Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. It still attracts some incredible artists, and open 7 days a week, you’ll be able to catch an unforgettable performance any time in Washington!

Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club
7719 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814
Located in the incredible art-deco building of the old Bethesda Theatre, this jazz club is well worth the visit. It holds brilliant up and coming artists seven nights a week and serves delicious meals that you can enjoy while watching the bands. It’s good to be aware of the $10 minimum per person you must spend on food and drink on top of the entry fee.

Jojo Restuarant and Bar
1518 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009
Found on the infamous U Street Corridor, Jojo Restaurant and Bar is steeped in true jazz history. The U Street Corridor used to be and still is home to a strong black community and their businesses, because of this it became synonymous with the jazz community. This feels like a slightly more up market jazz bar, but don’t expect any fancy dress codes – it’s all about the music!

Lincoln Theatre
1215 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009
Lincoln theatre first opened its doors 100 years ago, and due to segregation at the time it was a cultural staple for the black community. It’s a beautiful theatre decorated in reds and golds. Differing from the other jazz venues, the Lincoln Theatre feels like a more traditional sit-down show, it only offers light snacks rather than meals so you can really focus on the music! This venue definitely earns a spot in the best jazz clubs in Washington DC!

Georgia Brown’s

A modern twist on an old idea, Georgia Brown’s offers a sunday brunch live jazz session! With delicious food, great jazz and a friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to spend a Sunday. Tabard Inn

The Tabard Inn is Washington DC’s oldest hotel, establishing itself in 1739 and surviving America’s turbulent history.
